The Bronte Brother

Soft Skull Press has released a fictional novel about the other Bronte, entitled Branwell: A Novel of the Bronte Brother. Branwell "traces the life of Branwell Bronte, the sole brother of Charlotte, Emily, and Anne Bronte, from childhood to his alcohol and opium induced death at the age of 31." Find out more about the book here. Sounds intriguing! This may have to be one of the 75 books I'll read this year.--Kim

  1. I actually have The Eyre Affair but I haven't managed to read it yet. Everyone says it's fantastic. Hopefully I'll get to it soon. I didn't realize there was a series. Fabulous! Thanks for the recommendation! --Kim

  2. Okay, I guiltily confess: Kim lent me this book and it's been sitting in a drawer for about a year. (I thought it would be too "science fictiony" for my taste). But you're the second person who has recommended it, so it's going to be next on my list. Then, Kim, I'll get it back to you (finally!) to read. -- Amy
