Matthew will also play Dutch painter Rembrandt van Rijn (with co-stars Minnie Driver and Sarah Polley) in Nightwatching, which IMDB describes as "an extravagant, exotic and moving look at Rembrandt's romantic and professional life, and the controversy he created by the identification of a murderer in the painting THE NIGHT WATCH." -- Amy
Whoa! I loved Atonement. Despite P&P, which was great for what it was (a dramatized, romanticized, blockbuster version of the book), I am shocked at the casting for this. --Kim
ReplyDeleteFYI, according to IMDP, it's MccAvoy, not Macfadyen, who plays Robbie, the "rapist." AND, it's directed by Joe Wright, the same guy who did P&P. -- Amy
ReplyDeleteAnd to my great disappointment, I learned the other day that Matthew Macfadyen won't play Rembrandt. Martin Freeman (The Office, Love Actually, Charles II...) will. I like MF very much too, but I'd much rather prefer MM in this project.
