Martin Scorsese's next film is an adaptation of Shusaku Endo's novel Silence.
"The story of Silence is set in 16th century Japan where Portuguese missionaries are battling with the feudal lords' hatred of the religion and the violence directed towards priests," reveals Virgin.net.
